I modified the most common single transistor tesla coil circuit to accommodate a large IRF 250 Mosfet, then powered said circuit with 120vAC half wave rectified to 54vdc. A Mosfet driven by an amplified audio signal interrupts the tesla coil power supply, resulting in controllable frequencies at the output of the tesla coil. These frequencies are controlled by a laptop acting as a midi keyboard through an audio cable/headphone jack. Pictured Below is the circuit.
